More than a century connecting the future

our history

From our roots in the heart of Spanish industrial innovation, Masfarne has been a pioneer and driving force in the evolution of the electrical sector.

Join us on a journey through time, where vision, adaptation, and technological excellence have forged our identity.

Our history began in 1894, when Bartolomé Masfarne founded a textile company, laying the foundations for what would become a benchmark. Barely a decade later, in 1904, a transformative milestone marked our course: Pedro Guerin Lavigne and his company, Talleres Guerin, specializing in the nascent electrical sector, joined our shareholding. His experience in the development of the first lighting systems, streetcars, and industrial motors was crucial. This alliance catapulted us, becoming one of the first companies in the country to manufacture electrical cables. We were at the center of the revolution that illuminated and moved Spain!

The 1930s brought a new phase of development. In 1939, the Guerin group, then the main Spanish distributor of electrical materials and exclusive distributor of Pirelli cables in Spain, acquired the majority of our company. This integration pushed us towards even greater specialization, focusing on high-demand markets such as bare copper flexible cables and braids, Litz wires, and electrical connections. Our technical expertise and adaptability allowed us to thrive in specialized niches, consolidating our reputation.

The 1980s marked a turning point. With Pirelli’s acquisition of the Guerin group, Casa Masfarne began a new stage, separating from the Guerin company. Ownership passed to members of the Guerin family, and a key strategic partner, Facosa, the leading Spanish producer of copper wires and cables, owned by Mr. Ramón Escriche, joined our shareholding. This change brought with it a profound technological renovation. We eliminated enameling, tinning, and drawing processes, focusing on excellence in bunching, cabling, and braiding, as well as the manufacture of special connections. This strategic restructuring allowed us to refine our processes and products, adapting to the demands of a constantly evolving market.

In 2018, we took a strategic leap. With Facosa’s exit, the Guerin family took majority control under the direction of Antonio Guerin Figueras. This new phase marked the beginning of a profound modernization: we further automated and controlled our production processes, improved quality control, and invested in the renewal of production equipment. We implemented a new management system to optimize administration and integrate better with our clients, and launched an ambitious internationalization process that has driven significant growth.

In 2023, Antonio Guerin Garth took over the company’s leadership, maintaining a strong commitment to investment. Under his guidance, we have incorporated state-of-the-art machinery for Litz wire bunching, taping, winding, and braiding, ensuring maximum quality and production capacity. Additionally, we have optimized the manufacture of connections with automatic machinery and reinforced our quality control systems with rigorous tests such as tensile strength and resistance. At Masfarne, we look to the future with the same passion and dedication that have characterized us for over a century. Are you ready to connect with excellence?
